AGRA Galleries hosts a number of exhibitions every year including those by and for AGRA members, as well as those by artists who are not affiliated with the gallery - both organisations, groups, solo and shared exhibitions. Most AGRA exhibitions offer cash and art product prizes
All are welcome to visit the exhibitions and you could very well find the perfect artwork to tempt you.
Exhibitions organised by AGRA
AGRA holds four seasonal exhibitions each year which are open to full members of AGRA, regularly with cash and art product prizes. For each exhibition, first, second and third places are awarded as well as highly commended and commended works. Artists are allocated points for each level of award achieved in the Seasonal exhibitions. Members accumulate points over a period of time to work toward becoming an AGRA signatory or an AGRA Fellow.
Each year, the three major place winners in each seasonal competition are invited to exhibit in the annual Australian Art Excellence Awards.
AGRA Art Challenge ( formerly President's Challenge)
Once a year the president selects a theme and invites all to participate - prizes are on offer in various categories. The 2021 theme is 'Connections'.
Australian Art Excellence Awards (AAEA)
Artists entry into this prestigious event is by invitation and is limited to AGRA members whose work has received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placement in any of seasonal exhibitions in the past three years. The public assured of a spectular range of artworks to view.
The first and second place winners in the Australian Art Excellence Awards are awarded the AGRA Medallion and Terry Collins award, and are invited to submit works for a joint exhibition held the following year - the Medallion exhibition.
The annual exhibition and award is sponsored by the Jack family in memory of Australian artist Kenneth Jack AM MBE RWS. Open to all artists it celebrates drawing in all its forms.
AGRA runs online exhibitions by artist members which are particular favoured by our interstate artists.
