Membership Application

You are invited to become a member of AGRA. There are two forms of membership. Please read the explanation before applying.

1:-AssociateAGRA membership 2:-Full AGRA membership (this is an exhibiting membership)

Students often join as Associate AGRA members as activities are either free or at a reduced price for all members.

ASSOCIATE AGRA MEMBERSHIP (non exhibiting status)

Associate membership entitles you to receive the Hues Magazine which is full of art interest and news. It has member profiles, news from art groups, the president's report on activities, notification of all events, letters, invitations, a winners section and much more. The AGRA member need not be a practising artist and is invited to participate in any activities including trips, excursions, demonstrations, talks, classes, interstate visits etc. They do not vote nor submit work for hanging in AGRA's exhibitions.

FULL MEMBERSHIP (exhibiting status)

Artists may apply if they work in a Representational, Realist or Traditional Manner and must have reached what we consider to be our exhibiting standard.

All of the above plus this allows the artist to submit work for hanging at AGRA exhibitions, display work between official exhibitions, participate in all activities, receive the Hues magazine and have full voting rights plus all the benefits of normal AGRA membership.

Objects of The Guild

To foster and support the tenets of the Realist, Traditional and Representative Schools of Art in Australia.
To form a bond of union between Artists and to provide a medium through which their opinions may be ascertained and expressed.
To represent artists in their relations with the community and organs of Government.
To afford assistance to Artists in their practice by the provisions of services and facilities of all kinds including where appropriate services and facilities for which fees may be charged.
To foster and advance educaton of all kinds for Artists and for persons wishing to become artists and to encourage young Artists.
To perform generally such other functions and to carry out such activities as may advance or protect the interests of Artists or as may be useful or beneficial to them or the community in relation to the conduct of their practice and to the performance of their functions in their relationships between themselves and with the community and to deal with all other matters generally affecting the interests of Artists.
To raise money by all lawful means and to solicit receive and enlist financial and other aid from individuals, trust, companies, corporations, firms, associations, societies, institutions, and other organizations or authorities and from Government Departments of State and public bodies and to conduct fund raising campaigns for the purpose of furthering the objects of the Guild.
To promote social intercourse amongst members and persons interested in the objects of the Guild.
To co-operate and correspond with other bodies having like objects.

When you are accepted we ask for an A4 size biography/CV to display in our member's book. (We will not process your cheque until your membership is verified by membership council.)
