Di
King AGRAF who won
The Aust Guild of Realist Artists’ highest recognition in 2008 proves Realist
art is alive, well and relevant in 2009. Di is an artist
who looks for aspects of daily life and life in the bush and waits for the light
that will show more than just a landscape or a reflective quiet moment in
the life of her models. She captures a part of the essential mood and soul
of the moment.
Variety
is the spice of life, so they say. To me, painting is exactly the same. I
not only love to paint, but I love painting all kinds of subjects. I love
painting the bush with our wonderful old gum trees and rivers, with blue
misty hills and dusty old tracks with an occasional horseman and maybe some
cattle. Our wonderful coastlines with magnificent reflections in the wet
sand or rugged rocks and fishermen. Or maybe an occasional cafe’ scene or
portrait. I especially love figurative work, young ladies with drapery. The
drapery is as challenging as the nudes themselves. I am passionate about
what I do, and hope the challenges never stop.
AGRA Galleries is presenting this series of works as a culmintaion of the
year as The major winner from the Awards Exhibition
winners. It is truly an exhibition not to miss. Realist art is about our everyday
reality
and is
art
that
enables
us to look with new eyes at what is happening in our daily lives.

figurative subjects, and landscapes, oil interiors and commissioned portraits.
