INTERSTATE MEMBERS wishing to enter seasonal exhibitions are permitted to leave work to hang during the following general hanging month. Entry fee is waived but all courier charges must be paid by the exhibitor. Paintings must be in a carton and bubble-wrapped and be under 10kg.
Professional Artists Development
The winners of group exhibitions and two runners up become eligible for the annual ' Australian Art Excellence Awards' exhibition. This exhibition is the venue for the selection of the artist for Australian promotion. AGRA believes that an artist's main task is to create but creations need to be seen to be apreciated. This award aims to further promote fine artists to a wide Australian audience. This is an Annual Award THE

ELIGIBILITY
TO ENTER
Artists who are chosen for 'BEST PAINTING’ in the SEASONAL EXHIBITIONS and AUSTRALIA AT LARGE slide competition are invited to submit 3 paintings. Artists remain eligible for this exhibition for two years. (maximum number of paintings entered by any one artist=3 even if they qualify by winning more than one exhibition) There are three other awards given at this Exhibition 2000 was the inaugural year. As part of our Professional Development, AGRA has demonstration/exhibition days and conducts forums and workshops for artists and the public within the community. Specific details can be viewed at Professional Development
Artists at Work a full day of demonstration by master artists of 3 mediums. Visitors have both a visual and gourmet feast.
3 Focus Days a full day of similtaneous demonstrations and talks on one medium limited to 50 viewers.
Master Drawing 2 day workshop.
The Ashburton Community Day where we take to the streets with our easels and demonstrate our painting methods. The local schools are all invited to hang exhibitions of their children's artwork.
AGRA Galleries host private exhibitions between official exhibitions. It is advisable to book well in advance if you wish to hire gallery space. The 'Members Gallery' is not for hire and remains a permanent AGRA hanging space.
